Colors and Flavors of Provence
Paris Pre-Trip
A reunion in colorful and charming Provence.
Provence is a medley of light and color, of ancient Roman ruins, medieval villages perched on steep hills, and charming and historic cities. Sample these, along with local products and colorful markets, as well as the light that drew so many artists to these surroundings.

You will stay in Avignon, an ancient walled city, once home to the popes in the 14th century. Her largest monument, le Palais des Papes, bears witness to those times. From Avignon you will be able to venture out to visit the Provence countryside, from the Sunday market in Isle-‐sur-‐la-‐Sorgue, to perched villages like Gordes, as well as the UNESCO site Pont du Gard, and the charming city of Aix-‐en-‐Provence, birthplace of Cézanne and site of many of his paintings.. We will have a chance to taste some of the local specialties for which Provence is famous.

Hotel in Avignon
Hotel d'Europe
The five star Hotel d'Europe is an elegant and historic hotel located in the center of Avignon, near the Pope's Palace. It overlooks one of the most beautiful squares in Avignon, and has a long and fascinating history.
The original house was built in 1580 and belonged to several prominent local families through the years. The hotel was founded by Madame Pierron in 1799, and given its name by none other than General Bonaparte.
The Hotel d'Europe has welcomed many illustrious guests over the years, from Victor Hugo and Charles Dickens to Picasso and Dali, along with many other famous artists and statesmen.
Rooms are equipped with all modern amenities, including air conditioning, minibar, wifi and high-‐def TV with international channels, room safe, bathrobe and slippers.
Program includes:
- 5 nights accommodation in Avignon in double or twin room, including hotel taxes
- Breakfast daily
- Welcome and farewell dinners
- Visit of the Pope's palace in Avignon
- Excursion to the Sunday market in Isle-‐sur-‐la-‐Sorgue
- Visit of St. Rémy de Provence, and Van Gogh site

- Boat cruise on the Rhone from Avignon
