moved around a lot~lived in Pacific Palisades, California; Ibiza, Spain; The Hague, Holland; Washington (state); Marin County, California; Toronto, Canada; Deep Springs, CA; back to Marin County, CA; Bishop, CA; Sonoma County, CA; Minneapolis, MN; Faribault, MN; Wake Forest, NC; Madison, WI; and finally Sonoma County, CA for the past 18 years.

Photographer (on and off). Highlight of photos, ironically, was 9/11 (I was there to do a photo shoot anyhow~ I was two blocks away when it happened.) Jobs have been varied and interesting. Wrote a cookbook "Simple Foods for the Pack", a natural foods cookbook published by the Sierra Club. Active in Zen Buddhism since 1967. Taught lawyers in Minneapolis how to do word processing (back in the mid-80's), Secretary to the Dean at Carleton College (Northfield, MN), ran a small business called "Vikki's Quiches", etc.

Mostly I have been mother to three independent, creative and caring children. Ben has two children and Anna has three. Anna's oldest daughter, Amanda, has brought us all little Olivia Chavez, my great-grandaughter. I feel like an ancestor!

I like to read, garden, cook ~ and keep learning about plants and food, do light hiking, go to art museums, watch public tv and videos, "be there" for friends and family and try to stay present.

*Took all of Madie Bunch's "secretarial" classes. I remember when she and Mr. Flowers (the school counselor) were dating. Lots of laughs about a bunch of flowers, of course.
*The time I was thrown in the pool at our Girls' Athletic Association year-end party ~ I was the president. I was not a good swimmer, and got rescued by the only girl who knew I couldn't swim.
*That our school was rated "the Best Dressed", but our football team rarely won.
*Playing soccer in the Bois de Bologne against a French girls' team. They appeared out of the mist in the early morning ~ all of them larger than us and dressed in the most perfect team outfits. So impressive and such an awesome sight! We were so scraggly, in our mis-matched outfits. Obviously, they stomped us, almost literally.
