Jacqueline Parent - Class Of 1962

Jacqueline Parent

From Joanne Becker Re:

Jacqueline (Jackie) Parent was a year ahead of me / I met her only once in mid-1950's at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic School in Hampton, VA, during our late-elementary/jr. high years. Being a year apart at any elementary/jr. high school could mean very little contact with each other...time being rather regimented. But we met again again by chance 4? years later (and recognized each other) in the hallways at Paris American High. Even then, we had minimal contact since Jackie commuted, and I was a Fontainebleau-dorm student. But we met yet-again! after graduation, when we encountered each other in Hampton/at the Langley AFB BX...and then more regularly 30 years later (beginning in the late 1990's) at the same Catholic church. Jackie was always one of the first to leave after Mass, and tho' we always meant to get together to talk about Paris, time kept slipping away. Then, only 2 weeks ago after not seeing her at her regular service, I learned during announcements at our church of her rather sudden passing. No obituary. No family in the area. So no one I could contact, since she had no children and no siblings. I remember how devoted Jackie was to her Mom, who had passed away 20 or more years ago. Will always remember Jackie's smile...

Jackie & I were friends in 1962. We both lived at the Grand Terre apartments in Marly-le-Roi. She even lived with my family the last few weeks of our senior year because her father had been reassigned to the states. We had wonderful weekend adventures in Paris along with some local Marly-le-Roi friends. We did see each other a couple of times in the 80's but lost touch after that. Jackie was a wonderful person. Upbeat & quick to laugh. Joan Ladurantaye Lozeau
