Donald Scellato

Donald Joseph Scellato was born on March 22, 1942 in Alexandria, LA to the late Francis Donald Scellato and Jean Eloise Davis. He passed away in Alameda, CA on May 18, 2017 and is survived by his wife, Virginia Ambrosini, children Deborah Phillips and Matt Scellato, stepsons Joseph Ambrosini and Mark Ambrosini, grandchildren Kristin Stritzel and Corinne Stritzel, step-grandchildren Veronica, Vanessa, Anjelica, Jocelyn and Julia Ambrosini, and by his sister Mimi Betz.
Don graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in King Point, NY and subsequently worked in the shipping industry for American President Lines in numerous capacities, serving as General Manager in New York, Southern California, Hong Kong and the Midwest. He specialized in logistics and was Director of Operations for North America as well as Manager of Fleet Control in the logistics department. Since 1996, Don served as an independent consultant and Principal of Scellato Consulting Services and was a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants USA (IMC). He served on the Board of Directors of IMC and held various roles as Special Events Chair and President of the Northern California Chapter of IMC.A golf enthusiast, Don volunteered annually at three PGA-sponsored golf events which benefit charities related to social improvement, medical support and youth activities. He was also a published author of several computer guides and manuals.
