Retired in 2000 after 32 years with Federal safety
agencies as speech writer, print writer, media
communicator, etc. Lived in many different places - some good, some not so. Worked for
many different bosses - some good, some not so
(understatement!). Did some freelance writing
during my final years with Consumer Product Safety Commission with articles published in
parenting publications coast to coast. In retirement have been a volunteer tutor for a
Literacy Council and taught a young Russian man
English. Toward the conclusion of our lessons he got his first job in our country, his first driver's license, and wrote a technical article which was published in an engineering journal. We became friends and I'm still in touch with him and his wife and I met his mother who visited from Russia. I found tutoring to be a greatly rewarding experience.
