I remember the weekends Bob would spend sleeping under the rowboats in the Bois de Boulogne (at least that was his story). He would show up at the Bel Manoir shopping complex and clean up in the public restrooms. He was a real "character" and enjoyed life to the max. I enjoyed his company in many of our classes and on road trips with the football team. I am deeply sorry he is gone, but am grateful for having known him. Adieu, mon ami!
Bob LaCasse was a lively and humorous character. He was a member of our last football team before we got split up between SHAPE and EUCOM. Coach Treu liked to work us beyond the norm. I recall one night, very late in the season well after the sun had set. We were lined up on the field for some exercize or other, when it started to snow. I believe it was Bob LaCasse and Pat Krank who led us in a verse of Silent Night. I thought Coach Treu was going to bust a blood vessel. It was a warmly humerous moment. R.I.P. Bob.

Then you ran into him in some dive area, like Larry said. Two sides of a very different coin. However he ended his life, I'm proud to say I was his friend.
