Class of 1959

WHITEHURST, SUSAN A., 62, of Dunedin, died Friday (April 9, 2004) at home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. She was born in Los Angeles and came here in 1959 from Paris. She worked 17 years as national accounts sales manager for Douglas Machines Corp., Clearwater, where she was recognized numerous times as top sales person and employee of the year. She was a board member (2002-2004) of the Retail Bakers Association and a member of Caladesi Questers Chapter 816. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Robert J.; two sons, James R., Clearwater, and Stephen A., Ocala; a daughter, Lea M. Pujol, Palm Harbor; her father, J.W. Jackson, Rainier, Wash.; a brother, Robert P., Waldorf, Md.; and five grandchildren. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater.
