Kathy died July 2, 2003 at her home in Arlington, TX of cardiac arrest. She was happy her last year to hold her granddaughter, May Barwick. Since then Kathy has a new grandson named Walker Barwick. Both look a lot like Kathy especially May. Kathy was totally dedicated to her classmates of 1965. She attended all or most of the reunions and spent many hours filling me in on everyone. Kathy loved to travel which is why she became a flight attendant after raising her daughter, Jennifer. Our family misses her dearly.

I'm so saddened to learn of Kathy's passing. She was a very sweet person and I had such a crush on her.

Kathy was the Peter Pan of the Year 2000 reunion in Paris, seemingly unaffected by the intervening 35 years. That's what made her death so shocking, so soon afterwards. It's been almost ten years since the reunion, and others, including Jack Van Pelt, my best friend from PAHS, have joined her. It's hard to lose friends; you lose a part of yourself.

Was so sad to hear of Kathy's passing, just when I discovered this site and am finding old PHS classmates!
She was a sweetheart. We will hold close her memory.

I've been looking at photos from the past and Kathy seems to be in most of them.  She was so beautiful inside and out.   I still miss her.  I always thought there was plenty of time to keep in touch but it was not to be.

It's been almost 10 years now and we still miss Kathy. Seeing the pix of her taken at our 2000 reunion in Paris, laughing and scratching with all of us, brought back all the great memories we have of her.

Kathy was also a great personal friend. Any time business took me to Atlanta - and later Dallas - we would try to get together for dinner or drinks as best as our very busy schedules would allow.

A kind-hearted soul who was also sharp as a tack.

Rest in peace, dear friend.

Mike Kanze
