Eugene Charles (Charlie) Benton, 70, of Fayetteville passed away May 19, 2017. He was born in Fort Benning, Georgia on February 14, 1947 to the late Pauline and Colonel D. L. Benton. Charlie was survived by and loved by his wife, Bess Benton; sons, Chuck (Wendy) Beasley and Scott (Tammy) Beasley; grandchildren, Kayla, Dakota, and Connor Beasley; great- grandchild, Nona Marks; siblings, Lt. Gen. David Benton, Phil Benton, and Patricia Rissman; and many nieces and nephews.
