Betsy was a kind, funny friend whose life was centered on music. She was a great singer and pianist, and we spent many hours in Mr. Oliveira's chorus and madrigals, and many hours going to rehearsals and concerts in Paris. A highlight was going to the international music festival in St Cere in August, 1964, not only for the music, but to lie in the (dry) moat of the castle on the hill, watching the Perseid meteor showers. And singing at dawn--with Barbara Timmer, Jackie Roberts, Dee Jones. Betsy and I reconnected in 2000, and it was as if no time had passed. Betsy wrote her own obituary--see the link above. Her memorial service will be at St. Raphael’s Church, 1513 Dunster Road, Rockville, MD, 20854 on Friday, November 30, 2018 at noon. --Clare Conrad
