Jean-Paul (John) Otin

Remember getting those big tips from the Embassy staff at the Bel Manoir (sp?) commissary for bagging two carts full of groceries and loading all of them in their big black van and then seeing all that stuff at the annex off the Champs-Elysees.

In France near Paris from about April 1964 till about April 1967. Lived in Villennes-sur-Seine the first half of our stay, then off-base housing at De Grasse Village on the same road as SHAPE HQ.

After reluctantly leaving PAHS in April 1967, went to Watertown HS, MA, where I graduated in 1968. Attended Boston University and graduated in 1972 with a B.S. in Systems Engineering.

Joined the Air Force in October 1972 as a airman basic, became a second lieutenant in 1975 and resigned in 1981 as a Captain. Worked at the MITRE Corporation from May 1981 till November 2009.

Building and staffing the junior class baguette sandwich stand for the Halloween party in the auditorium in 1966. Also, scaring people in the dark at the spooky haunted house in the guidance offices.

Riding in Mr. Burton's new Ford Mustang to pickup what seemed like 100 baguettes.

As a biology lab assistant for Mr. Burton's biology class, had to bury the formaldehyde soaked cats at the fence near the RR tracks and the A13, Autoroute 13, or L'Autoroute de Normandie. What fun, NOT.
