Bill Tichenor - Class Of 1964

 

Lawrence William "Bill" Tichenor passed away on 11-6-16 at the age of 70. He had a great sense of humor, zest for life and was joyful every day.

Mr. Bill loved the Sierra Nevada's – A true mountain man and avid sports/outdoor enthusiast. He had a heart As big as the mountains he loved. He was a tele-skier, extended backpacker, climber, fly fisherman, and nature lover.

Bill was an advocate for environmental, political, and social justice issues throughout his life. He appreciated the solstice, ouzels, broccoli jokes, wildflowers, a good snow, and all music icluding Frank Zappa and the Grateful Dead.

Bill taught special education for 38 years where his quirky personality and purpose merged tosupport him and the children he touched. He was rather a pied piper with his tribe of special kids that all felt his love and support.

Most treasured was his family who were so lucky to have this gentle, zany, loving man in their life. As a father he was a impeccable role model of character. Always there to support with love and guidance those he cared for.

He leaves behind his life partner and wife of 37 years Lisa, his son Kirby (Sarai), daughter Elizabeth and brother Dwight. His pride and joy were his grandchildren Addison and Sawyer.
