RICHARD GORDON WAUGH JR.
Gordon died peacefully in his sleep on January 22, 2023. He fit many lifetimes into his 82 years.
Growing up in Alexandria, VA and Paris, France made for a worldly gentleman that loved food, travel, and languages.
Education at West Point ('63) and the University of Tennessee (MBA '73) was the foundation for a career in engineering and computers, both in the Air Force and as a civilian.
Gordon will be forever remembered for his unique joie de vivre – always exploring new territories… whether skiing, sailing, creating innovative computer programs or studying spiritual masters. He was a whirlwind in the kitchen as well as life.
He is survived by his four children: Laura Osterman of Boulder, CO, Elizabeth Dickerson of Ridgway, CO, Ellen Waugh of Washington, DC, and Tom Waugh of Falls Church, VA, and 10 grandchildren.
The loving attention of Miranda Allen, Bridget Lindsay, and Carry Tice made his last chapter in Berkeley, CA more comfortable.
Private service was held. Fare thee well.
