Terry Chambers - Class Of 1964

Terry Chambers

Terry Leon Chambers, 75, died August 26, 2021, in Wenatchee, WA with his youngest son, Drew, by his side. Terry was born July 23, 1946, in Arlington, Virginia, the son of late Myrna and Ralph Chambers. He was the younger brother to the late Larry (Bud) Chambers.

Terry graduated high school in 1964 from the Paris American High School in France. Terry enlisted with the United States Army in 1966 and was Honorably Discharged later that year. In 1970 Terry married (now divorced) Paula Jeanne Dent, whom he met in France, and they had two sons Sean and Drew. Terry worked for Whitestone Farm in Aldie, Virginia until he made the long journey to Alaska in 1980. In Alaska he became a “Jack of all Trades” working for fishing boats, oil fields, car dealerships, and guide services, to name a few; and met his late partner Betty Kelley. In 2017 Terry moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas to be closer to family and later moved to Missoula, Montana (2020) and then Wenatchee, Washington in May 2021.

Terry is survived by his son Sean Chambers of Carbondale, Illinois; son and daughter-in-law Drew and Emma Chambers of Wenatchee, Washington; three grandchildren: Brittany, Courtney, and Shane; five great-grandchildren.

Terry did not wish for a memorial service; however, his ashes will be spread along the Blackfoot River in Montana and a marker will be located at Fort Richardson in Alaska. In lieu of any flowers, the family asks that a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association or Wounded Warrior Project be made in Terry’s name.

William A. Bridenstine, Jr. (1965)

Terry was a great guy.  I remember him well.  He lived in the building behind us at 21, route des Puits in La-Celle-St-Cloud 1963-64.  I was a year behind him, but we struggled through Algebra II together, often working on our homework together.  We didn't keep in touch, but I am very sorry to learn that he has passed away.  Bill Bridenstine '65

My deepest sympathies for all the family. Teery and I graduated in France together, but I havent' seen him since then so, it is remarkable and unfortunate that the only way to be in reunion is to send each other's families notes of sympathy. Cynthai  Chafin McNeese Vaida in Colorado

I was sorry to hear the Terry had passed.  We hung out together many times in Paris and used to walk home together from Bel Manoir as he didn't live to far from me. from Vaucresson. I ran into him in 1968 when I joined the Army and he was living in Arlington Va.  As usual we went partying.  Later ran into him in Manassas and had dinner with him and his then wife Jeannie.  He was a good friend and I'll miss him.
